Hope somebody will be able to help on the following problem. Hetnet couldn't and sent me to this forum .

My aim is to forward ports 22 and 443 to my server. No problem changing the settings in the modem (speedtouch 780) but these never last more than 24 hours as the modem resets itself to the defaults set by kpn. This actually happens with any settings. The option to save my own settings as mentioned on the manual seems to be blocked by kpn. Other things like keep fixed IP numbers for my home network also keeps changing. Any help on how to fix this will be very welcome.

When you enter the changes into the modem, do you just click on "OK" somewhere?
Or do you click on "Save changes" or is it "Save all"?

I don't use this modem anymore so I can't check the actual titles.

That is the problem, there is not an OK or save bottom. The inbuilt help that comes with modem describes how to do it and backup my own configuration, but the option is not there in the Pick a task ... option mentioned.

As I am typing this I checked the speedtouch page has been changed and the description of the save bottom mentioned above in the help have been removed. This look s like the write help for my speedtouch but definitely no 'save' options only 'apply' ... Bizarre

Is the router also resetting without any changes? If yes, modem is not ok. Ask KPN for a new modem.
If no, check your changes.

Follow this procedure to make the changes in your 780 router.
First
set "Always use the same address:" for your server ip-number/device name.
Second,
select "Game & Application Sharing" in the toolbox menu.
select "Assign a game or application to a local network device"
select "FTP-server" in the "Game or Application" drop-down menu and your "device-name" in the "Device" drop-down menu.
click on [add] button
Third,
select "Game & Application Sharing" in the toolbox menu.
select "Assign a game or application to a local network device"
select "HTTPS Server" in the "Game or Application" drop-down menu and your "device-name" in the "Device" drop-down menu.
click on [add] button

Now must it work. (I hope )
